Tip #3

Show up.  This means to all practices.  You can't just say, "Oh, I can miss for a doctor's appointment".  If possible, schedule anything you have to do around rehearsals.  Your directors will thank you, as well as the rest of the cast.

Tip #2

Be on time.
If your call time is 6 PM, be there at 5:45.  It causes worry, confusion, and madness when you are late.  On the other hand, if you are on time (or early), there's no need to be rushing and worrying when it's your time to shine.

Tip #1

    Never accuse someone of "ruining the show".
    Ever.  Not even in joking.  It's just about the worst thing you can say to a performer, and it's not fair.  One time, a few fellow actresses and I were quietly trying to figure something out during the intermission.  Another actress told us to be quiet because we were "going to ruin the show".  I realize she was stressed, wanted things to run smoothly, and meant no harm, but it made me feel horrible.  Even though I knew that what we were doing was perfectly acceptable.
